Famous Albanian singer Dua Lipa has donated 150,000 euros to an art center for young people in the capital of her birthplace, Kosovo, just days before the launch of her Sunny Hill festival, which will feature performances by famous pop musicians like Calvin Harris and Miley Cyrus.
Sunny Hill festival is a three-day marathon in Prishtina and the news of the opening of a music academy for young talents was presented by Dua herself at a press conference with her father and the mayor of Prishtina, Shpend Ahmeti.
“This is definitely going to be a great project and something we are very excited about. I think it will be extraordinary. We will give something to our community, we have the opportunity to bring international artists to see Kosovo, to see it in another way, to experience it and its culture,” said Dua Lipa.
The project will be titled “Sunny Hill Academy” and will be located in the Youth Palace in Prishtina.
“When I was growing up here in Kosovo, I could count the concerts I had been on with the fingers of one hand because few artists were coming here. So it was always a dream for us to bring artists from all over the world to Prishtina and create something new, “says Dua.
While for Shpend Ahmeti, the Sunny Hill Festival, with names like Miley Cyrus or Calvin Harris, is the best possible way to promote Kosovo.
