The Rapporteur for Albania at the Foreign Affairs Commission in Bundestag, Christian Schmidt, has reacted to the current political situation in Albania, after the opposition’s decision to forfeit their mandates.
As the German government clearly criticized Albania’ opposition for boycotting the Parliament, Schmidt expressed his stance, that the government is also responsible for the created crisis.
“The situation is not normal,” declared Schmidt, “Parliament lives by debate. It is up to the government to guarantee parliamentary co-operation.”
Schmidt spoke also about the situation in Kosovo, where the border correction is being considered with Serbia. According to him, the idea of territorial exchange on an ethnic basis is pointless.
