EU ambassador to Albania, Luigi Soreca has underlined the need for more human resources in the justice system.
Speaking today on the challenges of the General Attorney’s Office, he said that “Of course, crime must be fought. More must be done. I know that this is easier said than done and that these things need time and assistance by the international community, which must collaborate with you”.
Soreca added that the European Union has allocated 34 million euros for these reforms to make the system more effective.
According to him, this is a significant amount and authorities must focus on making this system more effective.
“We believe Albania deserves to move forward and we hope EU member countries will take a positive decision in the weeks to come as far as negotiations are concerned”, the EU ambassador said. TemA
