EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn says that he’s expecting a positive recommendation to be made for Albania and North Macedonia’s opening of accession talks.
In an interview for Radio Free Europe, Hahn said that “the reform in the Albanian judicial system must be rewarded”.
The top EU official said that he expects the European Union to decide on the opening of accession talks for these two countries before summer. Hahn also said that he expects a positive recommendation to be made in the May 29 report.
Asked about The Netherlands’ demand for suspension of the visa free travel regime for Albania, Hahn said that member countries have not launched any such initiative.
