The European Music Festival which was scheduled to be held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands from May 12th to 16th, has been cancelled.
The coronavirus pandemic has forced the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 organizers to postpone the festival.
“However, the uncertainty caused by the spread of COVID-19 throughout Europe – and the restrictions put in place by the governments of the participating broadcasters and the Dutch authorities – means the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has taken the difficult decision that it is impossible to continue with the live event as planned,” the organizers said in an official statement.
The organizers are currently trying to postpone the European music festival to 2021.
Albania was expected to be represented in Eurovision by singer Arilena Ara, who won Albanian Song Festival in December 2019.
