Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, attended the informal meeting of Foreign Ministers of OSCE countries that took place in the the Tatras mountains in Slovakia.
Under the slogan “From past action to future prevention: the OSCE´s niche in fostering stability in Europe and beyond,” the participating ministers discussed the future of OSCE’s work in a changing dynamic but in a multilateral context.
“The meeting focused mainly on the discussions of participating states on the effective practices of prevention, conflict management and resolution and the development of effective multilateralism as a whole,” said Minister Cakaj on his Facebook account.
Cakaj says “This meeting was particularly valuable to inform OSCE participating countries on Albania’s preparations for the Presidency in 2020 in three main sectors: political, human resources and logistical-financial.”
Acting Minister Cakaj focused on the Presidency of 2020, where after making a brief statement of our priorities, evidenced the fact that, as part of the Troika and the Chair of the Mediterranean Group, Albania is increasingly witnessing the state’s credibility and its capacity for effective international action.
“Albania has the inevitable capacity to take over the leadership of the 57-member Organization, responsible for a number of political-military, economic-environmental and human rights and fundamental freedoms from Vancouver to Vladivostok,” said Cakaj.
