Democrat leader, Lulzim Basha held a meeting today with party faithful in the south of the country to discuss about the current political situation in the country and the next steps the opposition is expected to take.
From Mallakastra, Basha said that the June 30 elections sealed the fate of the country.
“June 30th was an electoral ‘massacre’. The one who should take the blame for this is Edi Rama,” said Basha.
The opposition decided to not participate in the local elections on June 30 and it doesn’t accept the result of these elections. Under the current law, new mayors must assume office in September but Socialist Movement for Integration and Democratic Party have decided that their mayors will not leave office until October 13, which is also the date when elections must be held according to the new decree signed by president, Ilir Meta.
