The opposition leader, Lulzim Basha has called on the government today to declare a state of emergency in the country in order to cope with the outbreak of the coronavirus in the country. Basha said this situation calls for drastic measures.
“I urge the government to declare a state of emergency'” , Basha said suggesting that manufactures and call centres be closed to prevent large gatherings of people and slow down the spread of the virus.
Meanwhile, the democrat chairman also declared that the state budget must assist businesses and individuals.
The opposition leader said that money from the state budget must be reallocated and be spent on the healthcare system and to assist people who face financial troubles due to the lockdown which has paralyzed many sectors of the economy.
The opposition leader also issued a message for citizens of the country, who these days have been asked to stay indoors in order to slow down the spread of the coronavirus.
“I know that many of you are facing financial and social problems during the time you’re spending indoors, but we must do everything to minimize the toll as much as we can”, Basha said. TemA
