At a joint news conference with minister of Finance and Economy, Anila Denaj and head of the General Tax Directorate, Delina Ibrahimaj, Albanian PM, Edi Rama has commented on the economic situation that the country is going through.
According to the head of the government, the economic progress that the country has seen is clear. The PM also said that 225 thousand Albanians have been employed in the period 2013-2019.
“We promised 300 thousand jobs based on the official labour figures in the Republic of Albania. In 2013, the number of people who had been registered as employed was 400 thousand, while at the end of 2019, this number has gone up to 698,235, meaning an extra 225 thousand people have been employed,” the PM said.
As far as the taxation system is concerned, the PM stressed the efforts being made for an effective management of taxes.
“Today, along with the minister of finance and the head of the tax directorate we are focusing on taxes and the effective management of taxes. It’s important to stress that we’re still half-way into building all of our systems which will enable a transparent functioning of this key sector,” the Prime Minister said. TemA
