Prime Minister Edi Rama said the government has provided direct support for the sector of tourism by reducing Value Added Tax to 6%.
In a meeting with residents of Vlora, Rama said that last year, the tourism industry did not suffer losses.
“The sector of tourism is the future and it has great potential. Returns on investments made in tourism will be bigger than in any other sector. Of course, this requires time, patients and an improvement of quality, but it’s sure it will happen,” Rama said.
The PM added that “what we need to do is to collaborate more in order to boost service capacities”.
“The pandemic had a terrible effect on this sector, but the move we made by not closing the border with Kosovo and the fact that Albanians could not go abroad, led to hotels being full,” the PM said. TemA
