Police in Montenegro arrested on Monday the mayor of Ulcinj, Loro Ndrekic and four of his collaborators who were local government officials.
Police have not released an official statement on this, but deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic announced in a message posted on social media that the arrest had taken place as a result of the fact that the mayor had employed party activists.
“The mayor of Ulcinj and the chairman of the local branch of the Democratic Party of Socialists has been arrested along with four other officials. The reason: employment of party activists,” Abazovic said in his message.
Meanwhile, the deputy PM also said that the government “is determined to put an end to abuses”. TemA
