President says govt has taken adequate measures to cope with the situation

President Ilir Meta has praised the measures the government has taken to cope with the coronavirus outbreak in Albania. The head of the state said in a televised interview that the measures are adequate and positive. Nonetheless, he also demanded a more active engagement by the citizens of the country to comply with the measures imposed by the government.

The president also commented the government’s economic package for businesses and individuals in these difficult days. According to him, the plan which the government came up with is in line with the plans that governments in other countries have come up with.

As far as the political situation in Kosovo is concerned, following last night’s voting by MPs to overthrow the government, the Albanian president said that the coronavirus pandemic must be the number one priority for Kosovo leaders, who need to think of a solution in favour of Kosovo and not a solution against Prime Minister Kurti.
