Natën e zgjedhjeve, ndërsa filloi të bëhej e qartë se presidenca po i ikte nga duart Donald Trumpit, dhëndri dhe ndihmësi i tij i lartë Jared Kushner po kërkonte një hero.
Ai dëshironte dikë si James Baker, ish-shefi i stafit të Shtëpisë së Bardhë, sekretari i Thesarit dhe sekretari i Shtetit, i cili udhëhoqi ekipin ligjor të George W Bush gjatë rinumërimit të votave në Florida në vitin 2000, ku u vlerësua si gjeni dhe diplomat strateg.
Por në vend të Baker, ai mori Rudy Giulianin, i cili dy javë më parë u fut në kurth dhe u shfaq në pozitë të sikletshme me një vajzë, pjesë e një filmi të komedianit Sasha Baron Cohen, i njohur si Borat .
Tani avokati personal i presidentit po akuzon kundërshtarët e tij se janë “një siklet për reputacionin tonë në të gjithë botën”, ndërsa kryeson edhe skuadrën e Trump në përpjekjen ligjore për të mbajtur Joe Biden jashtë Shtëpisë së Bardhë.
Të mërkurën pasdite ai shkroi në Twitter se ishte “rrugës për në Filadelfia me ekipin ligjor” për të sfiduar atë që ai e quajti – pa ofruar ndonjë provë – “mashtrim masiv”. Që nga ajo kohë, gjashtë nga postimet e tij në internet janë vlerësuar nga Tëitter se përmbajnë informacion të rremë.
Në një konferencë shtypi të enjten, ai mbajti një fjalim në të cilin ai pohoi – përsëri pa siguruar prova, se një person mund të kishte votuar 100,000 herë.
Nëse përpjekjet e tij për të mbajtur Trump në Shtëpinë e Bardhë dështojnë, ashtu siç mendojnë shumica e ekspertëve, kjo mund të shënojë edhe fundin e karrierës së Gulianit, dikur një prokuror penal i patrembur dhe hero i sulmeve terroritste të 11 shtatorit.
Me ardhjen në pushtet të Trump ai u bë “zjarrfikësi” dhe “shoku i parë” i presidentit, të cilit i është gjetur në krah në momentet kyçe, duke filluar nga gjyqet për skandalet seksuale.
Ai gjithashtu ka këshilluar presidentin për ligjshmërinë e vendimit për “ndalimin e myslimanëve” dhe si “këshilltar për sigurinë kibernetike”.
Por si do ndikojë betaja e fundit për presidentin, e cila duket e humbur, në reputacionin e tij?
Pak kohë më parë ai ka deklaruar se do kujtohet me dashuri dhe si një hero.

All the contrary his leadership was the reason for more than 450 NYC’s firefighters and policemen lost their lives because their communication end equipment was 20-40 years old… antiquate. The radios didn’t function.
