Deputies respond to the call of Minister Manastirliu, donate blood for children with thalassaemia

Members of the Albanian Parliament have responded to the call of the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, for the Assembly to donate blood for children with thalassaemia and those in need of it.

In the premises of the Albanian Parliament this Thursday, in the framework of the initiative of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection 26 MPs of the Albanian Parliament donated blood.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection opened the “Blood Safe for All” blood campaign on the World Thalassaemia Day, May 8, 2019, to help thalassaemic children.

The voluntary donation campaign has been extended to all state institutions in the country and so far more than 700 citizens have donated.

The campaign will continue until June 14, which is the International Day of Blood Donation, to help meet blood needs, especially for thalassaemic children, and is targeted at 2500 volunteer donors.
